At Least 1 Former World Champion Will Return To IMPACT Wrestling At Slammiversary 2020

The pay-per-view is still over a month away...

In recent weeks, IMPACT Wrestling has released numerous teases hinting that some of the Superstars released by WWE back on April 15 will be signing with the promotion. On the June 2 episode of IMPACT, they released a vignette which featured former IMPACT Wrestling and WWE stars Drake Maverick, Eric Young, Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, EC3, Mike and Maria Kanellis, and Brian Myers. Then, on last week's edition of IMPACT, Rhino revealed he had found a new tag team partner, and he's "got kids," hinting at the arrival of Heath Slater.

The teases continued last night as the promotion released another vignette and announced at least one former world champion will return to IMPACT Wrestling on July 18. Numerous former world champions then flashed across the screen including Bully Ray and Austin Aries. Ethan Carter III's old entrance music also played on last night's episode after Moose defeated Hernandez.

Who the returning star is remains to be seen but three former world champions Kurt Angle, Eric Young, and EC3 were released by WWE back on April 15.
