Backstage Frustration Over First 2-Hour WWE Raw In 12 Years
Frustration internally within WWE over booking of Raw
Oct 9, 2024
For the first time since the 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw in the Summer of 2012, WWE Raw moved back to two hours on October 7.
The show featured some issues as a result of the change, with many fans criticising how much of each match they were actually able to watch due to commercial breaks.
Fightful Select has reported there were "growing pains" within WWE due to the switch back to two hours. In particular, there was some internal frustration over the booking of the 10-woman tag team match due to the perceived lack of direction for the wrestlers involved and much of the match taking place during a commercial break.
The match saw Lyra Valkyria, Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, Natalya and Zelina Vega defeat Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.
Monday Night Raw will remain two hours for the rest of 2024. How long the show will be when Raw moves to Netflix from January 6, 2025 is still being worked on, according to WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque.
