Bayley Believes She Should Main Event WrestleMania 40

At the Royal Rumble 2024 premium live event, Bayley emerged victorious as the winner of the women’s Royal Rumble match, earning a WWE Women’s Championship match against Iyo Sky at WrestleMania 40. 

When looking ahead to the WrestleMania 40 card, the confirmed Night Two main event sees Roman Reigns taking on men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes. Though the Night One main event is unannounced, it looks likely that The Rock & Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins & Cody Rhodes will take that spot. Bayley doesn’t agree with this though, and has staked her claim to a main event spot during an interview with Alex McCarthy of the Daily Mail. 

"I would never say that the women shouldn't be main-eventing a WrestleMania, especially at the calibre of Rhea and Becky. Becky has had an insane career already and Rhea, her rise has been so quick. Fans love her. But she's still so young. Rhea, you got time to main event WrestleMania some other time, because this year is mine and IYO's year. This year has been the role model's year, starting at Royal Rumble, OK? And I've been doing this for a long time, and I've been fighting for this for a long time. Becky's had her main event spot, so it's time for the role model, ding dong hello Bayley, to take this main event spot. You guys can have the first night and I'll take the second night. You know, we can do that. You never had two women main event both shows at WrestleMania. Why can't it be this year? It's the biggest WrestleMania of the year. With all due respect, I would like to take that spot. Rhea, you're very young."

Women’s matches have only main evented WrestleMania on two occasions, once at WrestleMania 35 when Becky Lynch defeated Ronda Rousey & Charlotte Flair, and once on Night One of WrestleMania 37 when Bianca Belair beat Sasha Banks. Bayley isn't just eyeing up a main event, but she has also spoken up about wanting Paramore to sing her to the ring.
