Becky Lynch Earns WWE WrestleMania 40 Match With Elimination Chamber Win

Becky Lynch will challenge for the Women's World Championship at WrestleMania 40.

The Man overcame Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez, and Naomi in the women's Elimination Chamber match at the namesake pay-per-view in Perth, Australia on Saturday, February 24. 

The match came down to Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair and all three women looked set to win at different points until Lynch blocked a KOD attempt from Belair. The momentary hesitation allowed Morgan to roll up Belair to eliminate her from the match. There was no time for a face-off between the final two competitors as Lynch suddenly decked Morgan with a Manhandle Slam to win the Elimination Chamber match. 

Lynch's opponent at WrestleMania 40 will be determined later in the night when Rhea Ripley defends the Women's World Championship against Nia Jax. The expectation is Ripley will retain in Australia and face Lynch at WrestleMania. 

Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch has been teased on and off by WWE over the past couple of years and it emerged in recent months that the match was reportedly planned for WrestleMania 40. Ripley and Lynch have only ever had one televised singles match, back on a 2019 episode of NXT.
