Brandi Rhodes Confirms Pro Wrestling Retirement

Brandi Rhodes is done wrestling

Brandi Rhodes' time wrestling inside the squared circle is over.

The former WWE and AEW talent revealed to Chris Van Vliet she was now retired from in-ring action.

"You know, not as an active competitor, for sure. [Asked whether she has retired as a wrestler.] Yeah, I mean, it was really anticlimactic, but yes, I did. I just said, you know what, okay. Well, we're either gonna do this the Becky Lynch/Seth Rollins way, and they are amazing for doing it because I can't. It just was too hard. Well, not too hard, but just something that I didn't think would be the best for the family. So we've gone a different route, and I've started business ventures on my own. He's [Cody Rhodes] doing his thing, and we're just doing a couple of different things," Brandi said.

Rhodes worked as a backstage interviewer and ring announcer in WWE over two runs between 2011 and 2016 before departing the company. She then worked for the likes of IMPACT Wrestling and Ring of Honor as a manager and in-ring performer before she helped found All Elite Wrestling in 2019.

Alongside her position as AEW Chief Brand Officer, Rhodes continued to wrestle until she and Cody quit the promotion in February 2022. An in-ring return in WWE looked to be on the horizon at one point after she worked an in-house NXT live event in August 2022 but Rhodes has not made a full-time return to the company.

Brandi Rhodes ends her in-ring career with a nine-match winning streak.
