Bret Hart Comments On Potentially Joining AEW

Bret Hart has been long linked with AEW

It’s been one of the sagas of 2022; will Bret Hart officially become ‘All Elite’?

‘The Hitman’ has been overtly celebrated on AEW television, with the recent Owen Hart Foundation Tournament qualifier between FTR’s Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler serving as a love letter to Hart’s illustrious career.

However, recent reports that Hart has signed a merchandising deal with WWE all but scuppered the chances of ‘The Excellence of Execution’ signing with AEW, and during an interview with Lucha Libre Online, Hart himself commented on being linked with an AEW run:

"I'm happy retired. I'm a home guy now. There's not a lot I can do in wrestling. What would I do? Referee? Manage? Be a chairman? I don't want to be remembered that way. I want to be remembered as a wrestler,” said Hart.

FTR and CM Punk have been public with their praise of Hart, with the former hoping to bring him in as their new manager, but despite his respect for AEW, Hart is happy spending time at home:

"There's a lot of things I would love to be part of with AEW and what they are doing and they've got some great wrestlers there. I have a lot of respect for the organisation and all that but right now, I'm happy at home."
