Bret Hart Names AEW's CM Punk As The Best Overall Wrestler Besides Himself

Punk is #2 to Hart

Bret Hart, who is widely regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers to ever step inside the squared circle, has revealed who he thinks is the best overall wrestler other than himself.

The Hitman was asked to answer several rapid-fire questions on CBC Radio and when asked about the best overall wrestler, Hart named All Elite Wrestling's CM Punk.

Bret's other answers were as follows:

  • Favourite opponent to work with - Mr Perfect
  • Favourite move other than the Sharpshooter - Front Turnbuckle Bump
  • Favourite Canadian - Owen Hart
  • Favourite foreign object - Ring bell
  • Better rivalry, Shawn Michaels or Steve Austin - Steve Austin by a hair
  • Better arena, Madison Square Garden or Calgary Saddledome - Madison Square Garden because MSG fans were longtime and educated and loved a good wrestler. Calgary was a quiet crowd although they studied him and were big fans.
  • Favourite win - First WWE Title win against Ric Flair in Saskatoon
  • Favourite loss - Shawn Michaels in the WrestleMania 12 Iron Man Match

Even with a seven-year hiatus, CM Punk has put together a stellar career inside the squared circle that includes several world championships in Ring Of Honor and WWE. The Second City Saviour is currently having a career renaissance in All Elite Wrestling and he has faced the likes of Darby Allin and Eddie Kingston.
