As Malakai Black is now done with All Elite Wrestling, there are further signs that the remnants of his House of Black faction will be undergoing a name change.

Buddy Matthews - under his real name Matthew Adams - filed to trademark the term 'Hell Hounds' with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Friday, January 17. Matthews filed for the term for the following purposes:

  • Advertising services, namely, promoting the goods and services of others; organizing fairs for commercial and advertising purposes; providing a searchable website featuring the goods and services of other vendors.
  • Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.

Matthews' filing comes only a couple of days after Brody King filed to trademark 'Hounds of Hell' for merch and pro wrestling purposes. King has also filed to trademark 'Cerberus', the name of the three-headed dog that guards the gates of the underworld in Greek mythology.

Without Malakai Black, Hounds of Hell/Hell Hounds is expected to consist of Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart in All Elite Wrestling.

Malakai Black will make no further appearances on AEW TV and he is expected to return to WWE when he is able to do so. WWE management are fans of Black and they reportedly see him as a possible top singles act.
