Carmelo Hayes Turns On Trick Williams To End WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Carmelo Hayes betrays Trick Williams!

After months of teases, Carmelo Hayes finally turned on Trick Williams following the main event of WWE NXT Vengeance Day

Williams challenged Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship in the main event of Vengeance Day on Sunday, February 4 but it was ultimately Dragunov who walked away with the win following a widely praised match, picking up the victory following a Torpedo Moscow.

Hayes looked to console Williams following the match and they embraced as NXT Vengeance Day looked set to go off the air. Hayes began to walk behind Williams', however, and he suddenly caused Trick to collapse following a chop block to the back of the knee. Hayes then grabbed a steel chair from under the ring and beat down Williams with the weapon until referees eventually arrived.

Hayes then stood tall as NXT went off the air, being showered with boos from the fans in Clarksville, Tennessee.

In an interview following Vengeance Day, Hayes simply said, "whooped."

There had been question marks about Hayes' friendship with Williams since Trick was taken out backstage in October. It has still not been revealed who the assailant was but it was suspected to be Hayes all along.

Hayes and Williams teamed together earlier in the night at NXT Vengeance Day, failing to defeat the Wolf Dogs of Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin in the final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
