Cash Wheeler Heading To Trial Over August Arrest

Cash Wheeler will be on trial later this year

Cash Wheeler - real name Daniel Wheeler - is headed to trial.

Court records obtained by PWInsider have revealed that Wheeler was arraigned before the Orange County Court in Florida on one charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. Wheeler was not present for the arraignment but his attorney entered a plea of not guilty.

A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for May 7 before the trial gets underway on May 20. Wheeler has been ordered by the court that he must appear on May 7. If Wheeler is convicted of aggravated assault with a firearm, this could lead to up to five years in prison, five years probation, and a $5,000 fine.

A warrant for Wheeler's arrest was issued in July 2023 following what was believed to be a "road rage incident" that saw Wheeler allegedly "flash a gun" at the plaintiff. Wheeler was subsequently arrested in August, with his attorney submitting a plea of not guilty via his attorney on August 3, 2023. Wheeler then turned himself in on August 17 and he was arraigned the following day.

There was no movement on the case until February 1, 2024 when the decision was made to move forward on pressing charges.

Wheeler has remained on All Elite Wrestling programming throughout his ongoing legal issues. FTR are currently in a feud with Blackpool Combat Club.
