Cedric Alexander was one of several announced WWE releases last night, joining The AOP, Sonya Deville, Paul Ellering and Blair Davenport as those let go from the company. This ends Alexander’s eight and a half year stay with the promotion, signing all the way back in 2016 after an impressive display in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

Alexander is the first of those who have departed WWE in this latest set of releases to issue a statement, taking to X in a post

“Thank you for the last 8 1/2 years! Being a professional wrestler has been a dream of mine since I could form memories and I will continue to do so till the good Lord says otherwise. #SeeYouIn90.”

During his spell in WWE, Alexander won the Cruiserweight Championship, doing so at WrestleMania 34 during the kick-off show by defeating Mustafa Ali. He would then go on to become one half of the RAW Tag Team Champions with Shelton Benjamin as part of The Hurt Business, in what was his most prominent role in WWE. Alexander is also a three-time 24/7 Champion.
