Charlotte Flair Returns To WWE SmackDown, Title Match With Asuka Set For London

Charlotte Flair is back and already has a Women's Championship match

The June 9 episode of SmackDown saw a major return, as for the first time since her WrestleMania 39 loss to Rhea Ripley for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, Charlotte Flair made her return to WWE programming.

Her comeback came during a segment in which the Raw Women’s Champion Asuka was given a new title belt by Adam Pearce and rebranded as the WWE Women’s Champion, with the new design being a white-strapped version of Roman Reigns’ new belt. Just as Asuka was getting the title strapped around her waist, Flair’s music hit.

Flair made her title intentions clear, but Adam Pearce stated that she needed to get in line as the former champion Bianca Belair had been promised a rematch. However, Asuka being the fighting champion she is, accepted a challenge before a brawl broke out. A match for the WWE Women’s Championship was later scheduled for the June 30 edition of SmackDown in London, England on the Money in the Bank go-home show.
