Chris Hero Makes In-Ring Return

Hero wrestled his first match in over three years.

Well-travelled independent wrestling veteran Chris Hero recently made his return to the ring.

The two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion clashed with Timothy Thatcher at West Coast Pro's Whiplash show last Friday, winning the match via submission after trapping Thatcher in a Fujiwara armbar.

After the match, Hero was embraced in the ring by his fiance Rachael Ellering. He then got on the microphone and said that he felt the match was a great way to end his story, before taking off his boots and putting them in the ring.

He then let fans know he was kidding about retirement and just wanted them to see that he had 'WEST COAST' spelled out on his boots.

Hero then made a match for the promotion's December 3 show, where he will team with KENTA against Titus Alexander & Kevin Blackwood.

Prior to his match last week, the 43-year-old hadn't wrestled since being let go by WWE in 2020. In July, Hero signed with AEW to work full-time as a backstage producer following a successful trial.
