Randy Orton Officially Returning At WWE Survivor Series

Randy Orton returning in WarGames at WWE Survivor Series

One of WWE's top stars is officially on his way back to the squared circle.

The men's WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series was expected to become a five vs. five encounter, especially after Drew McIntyre aligned with Judgment Day and joined their team for the November 25 pay-per-view which left the babyface squad of Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, and Jey Uso one man short for WarGames.

Teases had suggested the fifth member of Cody's team would be Randy Orton and that was confirmed to be the case on Monday Night Raw. After Drew McIntyre secured the advantage for Team Judgment Day with a win over Jey Uso in the main event of Raw, the babyfaces made the save, at which point Cody stated the fifth man on their team had a "legacy". Rhodes then slipped in words like "prey" and "apex predator" before he noted the fans, who were chanting Orton's name, weren't hearing voices in their heads.

It was then confirmed by WWE that Randy Orton will make his return to WWE at Survivor Series as part of the babyface team in WarGames. The 14-time world champion has been out of action since May 2022 with a serious back injury. Orton underwent back fusion surgery in late 2022 but he has been training at the WWE Performance Center since September 2023.

Orton has been advised by doctors to retire but Monday's announcement confirms the 43-year-old has no intention of doing so.
