Chris Jericho Challenges Former ROH World Champion To Title Match

Chris Jericho will put ‘the ocho’ on the line against a former ROH World Champion

Chris Jericho is Ring of Honor, if Jericho himself is to be believed, and after the ‘most honourable man in wrestling’ successfully defended his newly won ROH World Championship against former champion Bandido on AEW Dynamite he decreed that he’d defeat every former ROH World Champion in history.

Jericho then threw down the gauntlet and challenged former champion Bryan Danielson to a title match on the October 12 edition of AEW Dynamite, with the match taking place on AEW's Canadian debut in Toronto.

Danielson and Jericho have been feuding for several months, ever since Jericho made ‘The American Dragon’ pass out at Double or Nothing 2022.

They clashed in singles action at All Out 2022, a match won by Jericho, before Danielson evened their series at 1-1 with a win on the September 14 episode of Dynamite. Who will win the rubber match remains to be seen.

An inaugural inductee to the ROH Hall of Fame, Danielson is the fifth-longest reigning ROH World Champion in history, holding the title for 462 days from September 2005 to December 2006 before dropping it to Homicide.
