Chris Jericho Claims He's 'Not Interested' In An AEW Match With Sting

Chris Jericho not interested in facing Sting in an AEW ring

Chris Jericho and Sting are giants in the professional wrestling world, with the pair having held a litany of titles across the North American wrestling scene and beyond.

The two have long shared a locker-room, from their days in WCW to their current respective runs in AEW, but have never ever faced one another in any capacity.

With ‘dream matches’ being an ever rarer commodity you’d think there’s money in running Jericho vs. Sting for the first time, but Jericho himself isn’t interested in the idea, simply tweeting “It’ll never happen. Not interested” when asked of a potential match-up by a fan.

Jericho is known for downplaying and denying potential matches on social media in order to savour surprises, and Jericho himself has spoken of potentially facing Sting in the past, saying the following on an episode of AEW Unrestricted from September 2022:

"Whenever there’s a Sting-Jericho match which there has to be because Sting and I have never been in the ring together ever, except for when Keith Mitchell retired and we had that after-ceremony. Never been in the same ring ever. Ever, ever, ever. There has to be a Sting and Jericho match in whatever way we decide it and that would be a great time for ‘Painmaker’,” commented Jericho.
