Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn Feared Their Scottish Accents Would Hold Them Back On WWE TV

Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn were concerned their Scottish accents would hold them back in WWE

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn are coming up in the world on WWE TV, with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions set to clash with WWE Women’s tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a unification match.

However, for Scottish natives Fyre and Dawn, they were concerned their Scottish accents would hold them back on WWE TV, revealing the following to The Sunday Post:

“There’s five million people in Scotland, so we’re one in a million,” Dawn said. “It’s so out of this world, because we are such a small country and we never thought this would happen. It’s a big opportunity for us to be inspirations for people in Scotland.

“We’ve got the accents, but we’re on live TV Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. We’re hoping that we can show people that you can come from Scotland and the sky’s the limit. We’re testament to that.”

Alba Fyre added: “We always thought the accents would hold us back, but they love it here. We never thought a couple of wee lassies from Johnstone and Glesga could ever be doing this!”

The pair are a part of a Scottish contingent in WWE that also includes the likes of Drew McIntyre and Nikki Cross. Rumours in previous years suggested WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn disliked Becky Lynch’s accent, whilst Vince McMahon was said to have been displeased that New Yorker Luke Harper couldn’t do a convincing Southern accent.
