Chris Jericho Makes PWG Debut At Battle Of Los Angeles 2023

Chris Jericho debuts in PWG at Battle of Los Angeles 2023!

In a major surprise, Chris Jericho made his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla debut at night two of Battle of Los Angeles on Sunday, January 8.

The Wizard wrestled on the show alongside his Jericho Appreciation Society faction-mates. The stable's appearance came about after PWG World Champion Daniel Garcia, who was originally scheduled to team with Jonathan Gresham and Kevin Blackwood, announced that he only teams with sports entertainers. This brought out the rest of The JAS and Jericho proceeded to team with Garcia, Sammy Guevara, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker against Jonathan Gresham, Kevin Blackwood, Michael Oku, Evil Uno, and SB KENTo. The JAS were seconded to the ring by fellow members Tay Melo, Anna Jay, and Jake Hager.

The AEW faction picked up the win following a baseball bat shot from Daniel Garcia and the Judas Effect from Jericho to Kevin Blackwood.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, who was in attendance, the match was "super entertaining" and the fans threw money into the ring. Jericho also cut a promo after the match, calling PWG the modern-day Extreme Championship Wrestling.

The former AEW World Champion estimated Sunday was his first independent wrestling show in Southern California since 1996.
