Chris Jericho Reacts To WWE WrestleMania Backlash’s Zombies

The Demo God took a tongue-in-cheek swipe at the affair

After WWE unleashed zombies into the WWE Universe during the Damian Priest vs. The Miz Lumberjack Match at WrestleMania Backlash, the internet became awash with hot takes on the unusual occurrence. Fans have been divided down the middle, and even WWE legends like Batista have commented on the undead horde being at ringside.

Now another prominent voice in the wrestling world has had his say - former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho.

Taking to Twitter Jericho said:

“Zombies...ZOMBIES? Wow that just set wrestling back 30 years.”

Jericho’s Tweet harkens back to AEW Blood & Guts, a match that allegedly caused some WWE backstage staff to proclaim the business had been ‘set back 30 years’. Obviously, such a divisive situation in a WWE setting wasn’t going to go untouched by Jericho, and his comments are in all likelihood tongue in cheek rather than a damning assessment of WWE’s product.

Naturally, Jericho’s Tweet stirred the pot online, with AEW and WWE die hards predictably clashing in the comments. Besides, zombies in wrestling aren’t new; WWE had The Undertaker, WWECW had The Zombie, and AEW currently have Abadon, can't everyone just get along?
