CM Punk & AJ Lee Inspired WWE NXT Promo

Cora Jade takes inspiration from CM Punk and AJ Lee for her NXT promo

An NXT star paid homage to CM Punk and AJ Lee on the April 11 edition of the Tuesday night show.

Cora Jade made an appearance on NXT, one week after she made her return and attacked Indi Hartwell following her successful NXT Women's Title defence against Zoey Stark. The rising star channelled her inner-CM Punk to begin the promo, asking, "Do I have everybody's attention now?", the same words that CM Punk said only weeks after his pipebomb promo ahead of his WWE Title match with John Cena at Money in the Bank 2011.

Jade then spoke about the NXT Women's Title picture some more before she took inspiration from AJ Lee's promo before Paige (now Saraya) made her WWE main roster debut in 2014, saying, "I am the hero of this story."

This led to an interruption from Lyra Valkyria and the two rivals brawled to end the segment, with Valkyria standing tall.

Jade has revealed in the past that she was a big fan of both CM Punk and AJ Lee while she was growing up. The 22-year-old has been a part of WWE since January 2021 and she has established herself as one of the top stars of the NXT women's division.
