CM Punk Appearance Set For 8/25 AEW Dynamite

Punk made his AEW debut on Friday night

After making his not-so-surprising debut in AEW on Friday night, CM Punk will have his first ever AEW Dynamite appearance this Wednesday night in Milwaukee.

A highly-emotional Punk debuted as part of the special "First Dance" edition of AEW Rampage on Friday night in Chicago. Among the many remarks he made during a 20-minute opening promo, Punk acknowledged Darby Allin in the United Center rafters, and told him he would be seeing him at All Out in September 5, also in Chicago. The match will be Punk's first since competing in the 2014 Royal Rumble match, less than 24 hours before he walked out of WWE.

Later in the Rampage broadcast, AEW formally announced that Punk would make his first Dynamite appearance this coming Wednesday night.

The current card for the August 25 AEW Dynamite, emanating from the UWM Panther Arena in Milwaukee, is as follows:

* CM Punk's first ever Dynamite appearance

* AEW Tag Team Title Eliminator semi-final: The Lucha Bros vs. The Varsity Blondes

* Matt Hardy vs. Orange Cassidy

* Malakai Black vs. Brock Anderson

* Red Velvet vs. Jamie Hayter
