WWE star CM Punk has joined the cast of upcoming horror series Revival, which will air on the Syfy channel.

Variety reported that the 46-year-old (who is repped by Paradigm's The Sports Group) will feature in a recurring role, though the exact details of his character are currently unknown.

Revival is based on an Image Comics series and is currently in production in New Brunswick, Canada. Punk has not been seen on WWE television since the October 7 edition of Raw.

The official description of Revival reads:

"On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the 'revived' appear and act just like they once were. When local officer and single mother Dana Cypress (Scrofano) is unexpectedly thrown into the centre of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she's left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect."

Punk has acted in films and television shows before, including the wrestling-themed series Heels and the horror movie The Girl on the Third Floor.

The Straight-Edge Superstar recently spoke about how he 'wasted' some matches on some people during his AEW run.
