CM Punk Jokes About Never Watching A Rocky Movie

CM Punk poked fun at himself in an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 12.

Taking to the social media platform, Punk posted an image of Rocky Balboa after his win over Apollo Creed with his head superimposed over Sylvester Stallone's face. CM Punk also had what looked to be a bloody nose so he may have been boxing. 

Punk's post is ultimately a jest at the fact he has never seen a Rocky movie, something which many people were shocked by.

The 44-year-old revealed he had never seen a Rocky movie during an Instagram rant in late March in which he called out Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, AEW, and Dave Meltzer. Within the rant, CM Punk referred to Moxley pitching their AEW World Title unification match on the August 24, 2022 episode of Dynamite be a squash for Moxley, with Punk then winning the rematch at All Out. Moxley compared the scenario to Rocky III where Balboa lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Clubber Lang before he was rejuvenated by Apollo Creed and defeated Lang in the closing moments of the movie. 

Punk stated in his Instagram post that he thought the idea sucked after explaining he had never seen a Rocky movie. 

The two-time AEW World Champion's future was up in the air once again after the Instagram post and if he will return to the promotion remains unknown. Punk does want to come back, though, and had agreed in principle to return before his rant in late March.
