CM Punk's WWE WrestleMania 40 Status Revealed

Latest on CM Punk's status for WWE WrestleMania 40

Although he is out of action, CM Punk will be at WWE WrestleMania 40.

In a promotional video for WWE's biggest event of the year, Punk said: "WrestleMania is in Philadelphia. What are the first four letters in Philadelphia? Phil... whether or not I'm invited, it never matters to CM Punk, he'll be there."

WrestleMania 40 will emanate from Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. CM Punk was originally internally scheduled to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania but Punk sustained a torn triceps following a Futureshock DDT from Drew McIntyre in the men's Royal Rumble match.

Punk will be on the shelf for six to eight months but he has remained in the public consciousness as Drew McIntyre has poked fun at Punk's injury on social media and WWE TV, with the belief being they will kick off a programme when the 45-year-old returns from injury.

Punk has remained busy during his time out of action and he was at last week's episode of WWE NXT. This prompted a wild claim from Booker T that he almost had a run-in with Punk at the taping, which appears to have been false.
