Asuka Withdrawn From WWE Live Events Due To Injury

Asuka dealing with an issue following WWE SmackDown injury

After she was absent from WWE's house shows over the weekend, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Asuka was indeed pulled from WWE live events on March 16 and March 17 due to hurting her knee on Friday Night SmackDown.

Asuka was pulled from WWE house shows as a precaution. The WWE Women's Tag Team Champion is undergoing testing to determine whether she is able to work through the injury or if she will need to take a stint away from the ring.

Asuka has had 14 matches at WWE house shows since the start of 2024. In her absence, IYO SKY teamed with Kairi Sane in tag team losses to Bianca Belair and Naomi over the weekend. WWE's live event on March 16 was held in Augusta, Georgia before the company headed to North Charleston, South Carolina on March 17.

Asuka sustained the injury on SmackDown during a Damage CTRL beatdown of Bayley. When exactly Asuka suffered the issue is unknown but she was shown heavily limping during the closing moments of the March 15 show.

Asuka has been one-half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions with Kairi Sane since they defeated Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro on January 26.
