CM Punk Shares A Heartfelt Moment With Cora Jade
CM Punk surprised Cora Jade in a backstage interview
A video has done the rounds in recent times of a young Cora Jade meeting CM Punk at a signing, which saw Jade crying and her father thanking Punk for keeping his daughter out of trouble as a role model. This moment has now somewhat been re-enacted many years later, as Punk surprised Jade during an interview backstage after her return at NXT Deadline.
Jade made her first appearance in NXT since all the way back in July when she lost a match against Dana Brooke. At the Deadline premium live event, she made a statement by attacking NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria and set her sights on the title.
Punk interrupted an interview that Jade had backstage, and Jade was visibly trying to hold back tears, remain in character, and not freak out. Punk told Jade he and AJ Lee were both very proud of her, and told her to be proud of herself too. He made a reference to their previous meeting in which he told her not to cry. It was a nice moment.
