Without directly detailing what happened, CM Punk has commented on the backstage incident that occurred following his infamous post-All Out rant in September 2022 in which he took shots at Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks.

AEW have never publicly acknowledged the incident but reports have noted that a fight broke out in CM Punk's locker room following his rant, with Punk and Ace Steel on one side and The Elite on the other. Punk is believed to have thrown the first punch and Ace Steel allegedly bit Kenny Omega and threw a chair that rocked Nick Jackson. The fallout of the incident continues to be felt within All Elite Wrestling.

Addressing what occurred following All Out during an interview with ESPN, CM Punk claimed "we are trying to move past what happened that night specifically."

He then said: "I don't think what happened was a big deal...This has happened in the last 10 months in hockey, in basketball, in baseball, in just about every sport. And it's covered and it's gone the next day. I think because I have injured my tricep and I've been out for so long, I think it has been exacerbated. I think it's been exacerbated by people spreading lies about the whole thing. And when, in reality, my attitude is, well, s**t happens."

Punk also noted that he has tried and failed to speak with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks since the incident, having been told by lawyers to not contact them.

Punk then commented on the fallout from the reported backstage fight, revealing that he wants to have a sit-down with The Elite.

"Now we all got to roll in the f*****g mud, and that never should have happened and has never been course-corrected. So, I understand people want to say that, 'Oh, man, Punk is a d**k.' Well yeah, because I'm defending myself and I will always defend myself. I'm open to have a full-blown f*****g sit-down powwow discussion with everybody about it. But it hasn't happened yet, and it's not because of my lack of trying," Punk added.

All five men were suspended following the incident. The Elite would return at Full Gear in November 2022, while Punk is set to make his return on June 17 for the debut episode of Collision. Ace Steel was fired but has since been re-hired. He is reportedly remotely working on AEW creative.

Kenny Omega has previously commented on the backstage fight. You can read what he had to say here.
