CMLL 'Thrilled' With AEW Working Relationship
Working relationship with AEW has CMLL feeling ‘thrilled’
The working relationship between All Elite Wrestling and CMLL has seemingly gotten off to a great start, with top stars from both promotions crossing over between shows, with AEW stars holding CMLL championships, whilst CMLL stars hold AEW/Ring of Honor belts.
From CMLL’s point of view they are apparently ‘thrilled’ with the partnership thus far, with Dave Meltzer saying the following on Wrestling Observer Radio:
“CMLL is thrilled, they are drawing like they haven’t drawn in years and years,” said Meltzer, later adding “…This is one of the biggest runs of business that CMLL has ever had. CMLL are getting more out of this relationship than AEW because it’s not like the CMLL guys go to AEW and boost their business, but the AEW guys coming to CMLL… Boy, do they boost their business.”
AEW American Champion MJF is set to head to Arena Mexico on August 2, with MJF putting the title on the line against Templario. CMLL’s Atlantis Jr. on the other hand currently reigns as ROH World Television Champion and successfully defended the title in a Survival of the Fittest match at Death Before Dishonor 2024.
