Cody Rhodes Campaigns For WWE PPV In Mexico

Rhodes believes Mexico deserves their own WWE PPV.

WWE completed a mini tour of Mexico this past weekend, with shows in Mexico City on July 13 and Monterrey on July 14.

The non-televised events were certainly newsworthy, with Stephanie Vaquer making her in-ring WWE debut and Tiffany Stratton attempting to cash-in her Money in the Bank contract, among other things.

Cody Rhodes headlined both shows, successfully defending his Undisputed WWE Title against Santos Escobar.

Wrapping up the tour, The American Nightmare took to the microphone and campaigned for a pay-per-view (or premium live event, if you prefer) South of the Border.

"If anyone deserves a PLE…it's right here in Mexico!" Cody said following his match in Monterrey.

Continuing, Rhodes implored fans in the arena to make noise and get the attention of WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, saying:

"You know how this works though, right? Same way with France, same way with Italy, same way with Scotland. This man right there, that camera – on the other side of that camera is our boss, Triple H…".

After fans loudly chanted 'PLE', the 39-year-old looked into the camera and said, "You heard 'em. You heard 'em".

In June, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio expressed his hope that Mexico would get their own WWE PPV within the next three years.
