Cody Rhodes Wants To Become The Face Of WWE

Another milestone for Cody Rhodes to achieve in WWE

Who is the face that runs the place in WWE? It would be Cody Rhodes, if he had his way.

The American Nightmare has been one of WWE's top stars since returning to the company at WrestleMania 38, and despite a couple of major setbacks - including a completely torn pectoral muscle that kept him out of action for around eight months and a loss to Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39 - the fans still rally behind the 38-year-old.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Cody noted that he wants to be the person WWE builds around:

"The milestones keep building. We keep climbing to new levels. Now the question I keep asking myself is, ‘Who is the face of the place?' That's what I want. That's another level I need to attain. Hopefully, that starts at the Royal Rumble," Rhodes said.

Should Rhodes triumph in the Royal Rumble match, he would join Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin on the list of people who have won it in consecutive years.

While the fans may be behind a motivated Cody Rhodes, his road to a WrestleMania 40  main event has become complicated with the return of CM Punk and re-emergence of The Rock. Despite the competition, Cody is 'not flinching' over possibly losing his spot.
