WWE have opted to edit out Carlito's controversial line from the October 21 edition of Raw.

There was reportedly 'disbelief and unhappiness' after Carlito, in an unscripted moment, said 'I gotta learn Chinese' after overhearing IYO Sky and Kairi Sane speaking Japanese in a backstage segment.

Fans watching the version of the show that has been uploaded to Peacock will not see Carlito's face or hear the line of dialogue, but rather a close-up of Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. The segment plays as normal thereafter.

While many people were offended by Carlito's ad-lib, the Damage CTRL members themselves were reportedly not among them. SKY and Sane were said to have interpreted the line as Carlito playing the idiot and not being intentionally racist.

It is unknown whether the 45-year-old was reprimanded backstage, but he remains a member of The Judgment Day. There were reports that he could be removed from the group and given a singles push before the end of the year.

Carlito's last televised outing saw him team with Dominik Mysterio in a loss to the War Raiders on the November 18 edition of Raw (taped November 11).
