Daniel Bryan Thought Edge Vs. Roman Reigns Would Have Been A Strong WWE WrestleMania Main Event

The American Dragon tried to get out of being added to the match

While WWE's original plans called for the main event of WrestleMania 37 to be a singles match between Edge and Roman Reigns, the company ultimately switched up the Universal Title match following Fastlane and added Daniel Bryan to the contest, making it a Triple Threat.

Although he was added to the match, Daniel Bryan revealed to BT Sport that he wants to see Edge and Reigns go one on one and he thought a singles match between both men would have been a great WrestleMania main event.

"Take me out of the picture, I want to see Edge and Roman one on one. I thought that would have been a great WrestleMania main event just the two of them," Bryan said.

The American Dragon later noted that he even tried to get out of being added to the match.

"I kept trying to get out of it too. I was just like, 'I think this is a heck of a story 10 years to the day that he was forced to retire'... Not to say that I didn't want to be a part of it but I just thought it was such a strong main event just the two of them," Bryan added.

While the match ultimately didn't take place at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns vs. Edge could still take place down the line, particularly as The Rated-R Superstar can claim that he technically pinned Daniel Bryan
