Darby Allin Reveals He Almost Broke His Neck On AEW Dynamite

Darby Allin "almost" broke his neck after scary spot on Dynamite

Two weeks ago on AEW’s Homecoming edition of Dynamite in Daily’s Place, Sting and Darby Allin won in the main event of the show in a tornado tag team match against Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs of the Don Callis Family.

During the match, there was a scary looking spot concerning Darby Allin (which seems to happen on a weekly basis) where he was flung up in the air by both Hobbs and Takeshita, sending him spinning into the ropes, with his head and neck ricocheting against the bottom rope. It was noted at the time that Allin was “messed up” with this spot, though the severity of it wasn’t known at the time.

During an interview with KSDK, Allin revealed that he nearly broke his neck during that match.

“Well, the thing with AEW is you can expect the unexpected. I mean that. It’s not just like, I’m not trying to sell anything, but every week there’s some crazy shenanigans going on. Last week, I almost broke my neck. And then this week, we got so much crazy crazy stuff. Literally, it’s something different every week. We don’t play it safe.”

Whatever happened to Allin hasn’t gotten in his way too much, as this week he and Sting cut a promo stating that they were targeting the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
