Dark Side Of The Ring Creators Open To Covering 'Speaking Out' Movement In A Future Episode

"It might be something we could possibly do down the line."

The co-creators behind the critically acclaimed Dark Side Of The Ring series have said they would be interested in covering the recent 'Speaking Out' movement in a future episode.

The Speaking Out movement began on social media in June 2020 which saw people publicise their allegations of mistreatment and sex crimes by other individuals in professional wrestling, with allegations made against performers in almost every major promotion.

Having followed the development of the situation very carefully, Dark Side Of The Ring co-creators and producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener say they would be interested in covering the events, so long as they could do so in a meaningful, authentic and impactful way.

Speaking to Vice.com, Husney said: "We were definitely paying attention when that was happening, and it's definitely something we're interested in covering. In fact, there's one story that I was quite passionate about that exemplified aspects of that movement, but the access to that story wasn't there yet.

"It might be something we could possibly do down the line, but there are a lot of stories that we do pursue that don’t work out for access reasons. You don't want to make a talking head piece that's impersonal. For us, it just wasn't the right time."
