FTR are once again at the top of the All Elite Wrestling tag team division, having defeated The Gunns for the AEW World Tag Team Championships in a Titles vs. Careers Match on the April 5 edition of Dynamite. Had FTR lost, they would have been forced to leave All Elite Wrestling.

Dax Harwood has claimed since the turn of the year that FTR's AEW deals were up in April but the pair will ultimately be sticking around in the promotion as the tag champs. Reports indicated that the whole contract situation was just an angle and FTR are, in fact, under long-term deals with AEW. When exactly those deals were signed is unknown, however.

Harwood's claims prompted speculation that FTR could be on their way back to WWE but Dax replied to a tweet about their AEW World Tag Team Title win explaining why they wouldn't be returning to Vince McMahon's organisation.

"'GIVE US THE BELTS OR WE'RE GOING BACK TO WWE!' Definitely not. 'That schedule keeps me away from my wife and daughter too much & AEW will allow us to give back to wrestling,'" Harwood tweeted.

FTR are now two-time AEW World Tag Team Champions, having previously held the gold in 2020. They are also former ROH, AAA, and IWGP tag team champions, having held those belts in 2022.
