The Good Brothers departure from WWE in 2020 was one of the more shocking departures of ‘Black Wednesday’. Two-time WWE Tag Team Champions on Raw, and close with main event star AJ Styles, many assumed their spot in WWE was safe. However, no sooner had they left and the offers started coming in, and according to a report from Fightful Select, it was just 15 minutes after their WWE departure was finalised that IMPACT Wrestling came calling.

Doc Gallows states that IMPACT head Scott D’Amore reached out to him within a quarter of an hour, still willing to have him and Anderson come on board. D’Amore had earlier offered the two a deal in 2019 when The GBs were potentially about to become free agents, and honoured that initial deal second time round in 2020.

Due to the state of the world in 2020, Gallows and Anderson accepted, knowing that any return to Japan was unlikely for the foreseeable future, whilst a stint in AEW would have to wait until several fences were mended. The move to IMPACT has proven to be a successful one, with The Good Brothers reigning as World Tag Team Champions on one occasions, as well as being featured players in the IMPACT/AEW crossover.
