Indie wrestling promotion Dragon Gate USA is set to be revived, with a relaunch show announced for April 2025.

The news was announced by indie powerhouse GCW, with DGUSA: The Revival set for April 16 during GCW’s ‘The Collective’ week of shows, running alongside WWE’s WrestleMania 41 week. GCW revealed the following on X/Twitter:

“Breaking:@dragongate_pro returns to The USA for the first time in over a decade as part of the @collective2025 Kickoff on Wednesday, April 16th at The Palms Resort and Casino! Tickets Go On Sale Friday at 10AM PT/1PM ET. Watch LIVE on @FiteTV+”

Dragon Gate USA was an off-shoot of Japanese promotion Dragon Gate, and was active from 2009 until 2014. The DGUSA brand was helmed by Gabe Sapolsky, who is currently working in WWE overseeing its WWE ID project ahead of a potential launch of NXT EVOLVE. It is assumed that Sapolsky is not involved with this relaunch of Dragon Gate USA, although WWE did buy the tape library of the original DGUSA in 2020.

The likes of Drew McIntyre, Johnny Gargano, and Ricochet are DGUSA alumni, with all three holding the promotion’s main prize the Open the Freedom Gate Championship.
