Drew McIntyre On WWE Raw: "We're Wrestlers In A Wrestling Ring, Let's Just Freakin' Wrestle"

Drew McIntyre says "wrestling" a lot on WWE Raw

Professional wrestling has returned to WWE.

Words like 'wrestling' and 'wrestler' were banned in the company under the Vince McMahon regime, with the 76-year-old preferring to refer to his talents as 'Superstars'. McMahon retired on July 22 as WWE CEO and Chairman, though, and the new leadership team of Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Nick Khan appear to have made a major change.

Cutting a promo on Monday's episode of Raw in a segment with Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre said: "We're wrestlers in a wrestling ring, let's just freakin' wrestle."

Owens and McIntyre then did wrestle, having a very good 15-minute match that only came to an end after The Usos hit the ring and attacked both competitors to draw a DQ.

Wrestling isn't the only unbanned term, though, and commentator Jimmy Smith said the word 'hospital' instead of 'local medical facility' on Monday Night Raw. Titles were also mentioned on the show numerous times instead of the belts being referred to as championships all of the time.
