Dustin Rhodes Wants AEW To Establish WWE ID-Esque Programme
Rhodes thinks AEW should adopt a similar programme
Nov 22, 2024
AEW star Dustin Rhodes is keen for the company to start something similar to WWE's Independent Development programme.
Speaking with WFAA 8, Rhodes was asked about the WWE ID programme and if his Rhodes Wrestling Academy School could become part of it, saying:
"I don't think through WWE because I'm here and I think that's probably the reason they haven't reached out, right, because I'm contracted with All Elite Wrestling. I would love for Tony to do that with us where we have a little type thing, that would be kind of cool for some of our schools, especially me since I'm like one of the originals here".
The 55-year-old returned to action at the November 7 Ring of Honor TV tapings after a brief period of free agency.
AEW owner Tony Khan shared his thoughts on the WWE ID programme during the Full Gear media call, saying:
"I have some thoughts on it, but I will reserve my judgment until I actually test such a mechanism. I only know what I’ve read about them, but it’s interesting".
Khan added that it will be interesting to see what happens if and when AEW attempts to bring in a WWE ID prospect.
