Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Matches Set For WWE NXT

Last week's WWE NXT New Year's Evil special saw the conclusion of the men's Breakout Tournament, but we also learned that the 2024 men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will begin on tonight's show.

WWE have now officially announced the first matches of the tag team tournament, as well as other bouts for this week's edition of NXT.

In the first round of the Dusty Classic, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin will take on Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus, while an all-babyface affair sees Nathan Frazer and Axiom go up against Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. 

Breakker reluctantly agreed to team with Corbin on last week's show, the latter's logic being that both men are "a**holes," and will therefore definitely win the tournament. 

According to WWE, the contest's other entrants and a full tournament bracket will be revealed on tonight's NXT. 

We can assume that the team of Edris Enofe and Malik Blade will be involved, after they confronted Nathan Frazer last week. The Brit was loudly confident about his team's chances, claiming that the regular NXT tag teams hadn't been too impressive lately - sparking tensions with Enofe and Blade.

Elsewhere on the show, Tony D and Stacks will defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against Bronco Nima and Lucien Price of OTM, while Cora Jade takes on Gigi Dolin in singles action.
