El Hijo del Vikingo is on crutches following an injury he suffered on Sunday night at the TNA IMPACT tapings in Detroit, Michigan.

TNA announced that Vikingo was taken to the hospital on Sunday and treated for a right knee injury before returning to his Detroit hotel. Vikingo flew home to Mexico on Monday and he is on crutches and wearing a leg brace. The full extent of Vikingo's injury is unknown and he will be treated by a specialist.

Vikingo was stretchered out of Sunday night's IMPACT taping. Vikingo was facing Trent Seven at the show but he landed awkwardly following a corkscrew moonsault to the floor and the referee immediately threw up the 'X' to end the match. Vikingo has only just returned from six months out of action with a torn meniscus.

The 27-year-old is scheduled to challenge Alberto El Patron for the AAA Mega Championship at the promotion's Guerra de Titanes event on November 10. Vikingo's status for that show is currently up in the air.

Chris Bey also suffered a serious neck injury at Sunday's TNA IMPACT tapings. Bey remains in hospital but he is said to be in good spirits and joking around after undergoing surgery on Sunday night.
