Eric Young Not Interested In Signing With AEW

"I’ve never been an internet guy. I don’t care about how many stars the internet gave me."

Eric Young has seemingly committed his future to TNA, saying he would like to finish his career with the promotion and admitting that he would turn down AEW if they came calling.

Speaking at a recent virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, Young was asked if he'd consider signing for AEW, should the opportunity arise. He replied:

"No, I don’t think so. [...] We definitely had a bit of a discussion last time when I was a free agent there a couple months ago. Just not for me. I’m glad that it exists. I’ve got tons of really good friends that are there and there’s tons of die-hard fans that love it. The more wrestling the better, the more jobs the better, and I wish them all the luck. It’s just not for me. I will wrestle and finish my career at TNA Wrestling and then I’ll disappear and then move into the woods.

"I don’t think Tony [Khan] thinks of me that way, so he’s not gonna do that. He’s always been polite to me. I don’t have anything bad to say about him but I don’t think I’m his cup of tea. I’m not an internet guy, I’ve never been an internet guy. I’m just not one of those guys. I don’t post my matches, I don’t care about how many stars the internet gave me. So I’m not concerned with that world."

Young originally signed with TNA in 2004 and has spent the majority of his career there. He returned to the promotion in 2020 after a four-year stint with WWE, but left in 2022 when his contract expired. After briefly rejoining WWE he once again returned to TNA at Slammiversary 2023.

TNA recently underwent a huge change behind the scenes, as president Scott D'Amore was fired by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, the promotion's parent company. This seems to have caused a huge backlash among fans and even members of the roster, who have written a letter to Anthem protesting the decision.

H/T to POST Wrestling.
