Eric Young Returns At IMPACT Slammiversary 2023

Eric Young has made his IMPACT return

Heading into Slammiversary, Scott D’Amore found himself without a partner heading into his tag team match against Bully Ray and Deaner, with the IMPACT President making a phonecall to an old friend on the July 13 edition of IMPACT Wrestling.

After some speculation online - and sightings at an airport - D’Amore’s partner was revealed to be none other than former IMPACT World Champion Eric Young, with D’Amore’s former Team Canada ally making his return to the company after several months away.

Slammiversary marked ‘Showtime’s first match since October 2022, in a match that saw Detroit Redwings legend Darren McCarty and Scott D’Amore double chokeslam Bully Ray through a table, before a D’Amore Canadian Destroyer and a pitch perfect Eric Young Elbow Drop on Deaner got the win.

Young was written off IMPACT TV by his former Violent By Design protege Deaner in December 2022, with Deaner ‘stabbing’ Young. Young was then reported to have signed with WWE once more in 2023, but was released on the quiet before making a formal return to WWE shows, EY’s release confirmed by Fightful prior to the match. Young’s return was teased by D’Amore wanting someone who could ‘come back to life’.
