While reports may have noted that Konosuke Takeshita is exactly what WWE are looking for, the international star revealed exclusively to Cultaholic following PROGRESS Wrestling's show in Newcastle upon Tyne that he has no interest in joining the McMahon-led organisation.
Instead, Takeshita is looking to return to All Elite Wrestling and he is hoping to be back in the United States in October.
"To be honest, now I'm not interested in WWE. My next goal is more fights in AEW I hope. So I have to go to back to Japan in August and September. Maybe, not decided yet, I hope I go back to America in October. Then if I stay in the US I can come to the UK more times. From Japan to the UK is so far but US to UK is maybe seven hours. It's possible," Takeshita said.
Takeshita has just finished his latest excursion in the United States, ending with a win over Ryan Nemeth on the August 10 taping of AEW Dark: Elevation. The 27-year-old had been performing regularly in All Elite Wrestling since April and he had high-profile matches against the likes of Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, and Eddie Kingston. He also unsuccessfully challenged Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship at Battle Of The Belts III.
Takeshita is currently on his way back to Japan for the time being and he will perform at DDT's upcoming Peter Pan show on August 20 at the Ota City General Gymnasium.
