IMPACT Wrestling star Mike Bailey would love to see the return of the Elevation X match stipulation - even though he concedes it's a not necessarily a good idea.

Speaking with Cultaholic's Tom Campbell for Desert Island Graps, Bailey said:

"Elevation X really is my favourite. AJ Styles versus Rhino in Elevation X really is one of my favourite things of all time. One, because it's completely ridiculous. It's a terrible idea. I watched it last year when I was doing a Twitch stream to get ready for Ultimate X and I watched all the Ultimate X matches I could find, and I also watched Elevation X. I had seen it, but as I'm re-watching it, I'm like, 'this is completely ridiculous'. I then spoke to Rhino about it, and he told me, above and beyond what you see on TV, the structure was shaky and really felt unstable, and it looks terrifying. Somehow, it's worse. I would love to be part of it because I think it's an incredibly over-the-top, interesting concept," revealed Bailey.

Only two Elevation X matches have taken place in TNA/IMPACT history (at Destination X 2007 & 2008). Rhino was victorious in both, besting AJ Styles and then James Storm.

Essentially an update on the scaffold match, the goal is to knock your opponent off the X-shaped truss suspended above the ring to the mat below.

Bailey will compete in an Ultimate X match alongside Jonathan Gresham, Kevin Knight, Angels, and Kushida at Slammiversary on July 15. The winner will become number one contender to the X-Division Title.
