A former WWE NXT talent is set to make their IMPACT Wrestling debut in the new year.
It was revealed during IMPACT's Year End Awards show on Thursday, December 29 that Anthony Greene will debut for the promotion on the January 5 edition of IMPACT. Greene noted in a short promo that IMPACT have been the alternative for the past two decades and he is out to show that he is the alternative.
Greene will face Black Taurus on the show. Taurus is set to challenge for the X-Division Championship at Hard To Kill on January 13.
Greene previously performed as August Grey in WWE from August 2020 until his release in June 2021. He spent much of his time in the company on 205 Live but he did have a few matches on NXT.
Since his release, Greene has had a handful of matches on AEW's YouTube shows as an enhancement talent and he has also worked on the independents in North America. His most high-profile matches came in the summer of 2022, though, during a tour with Pro Wrestling NOAH. Greene found himself involved in the promotion's N-1 Victory tournament, during which he faced the likes of Masato Tanaka, Go Shiozaki, Kazuyuki Fujita, and Kenoh.
Also announced for next week's episode of IMPACT is Matt Cardona vs. Chris Sabin and Taylor Wilde vs. Masha Slamovich.
