The first batch of episodes of behind-the-scenes docuseries WWE: Unreal have offered fans a glimpse into the backstage machinations of the sports entertainment giant.
With WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts criticising the series as 'foolish', reports that certain things presented in the show were 'complete bullsh*t' and the belief that it was a vehicle designed to present Paul 'Triple H' Levesque as WWE's version of Dana White, Unreal has already attracted some controversy.
As far as how the show is being received backstage in WWE, Fightful Select have shed some light on that with a recent report.
Those that Fightful had spoken to had yet to make their mind up about how they felt about it. Some talent were featured in Unreal, despite not being told that they were being filmed beforehand. However, talent also said that being filmed was worked int their contracts and that there are always signs up backstage noting that they are subject to being filmed.
There is a worry among talent due to emotions running high in the Gorilla position, which is one less place where they are able to be vulnerable due to the presence of the film crew.
Talent also claimed that they were not paid extra for being in the show (at leas that they are aware of), not that the people Fightful spoke to particularly minded that fact.
The second batch of episodes is due to drop on Netflix in early 2026.
