Former WWE Talent Expects To Find Out Vince McMahon Has Mafia Ties

Vince McMahon and the mafia?!

Tony D'Angelo may not have been the only don in WWE while Vince McMahon was in charge of the company.

WWE have had a close relationship with Madison Square Garden for decades and the venue is very much WWE's spiritual home. With the venue being in New York City, Rob Van Dam has revealed on his 1 of a Kind podcast that he expects to find out that Vince McMahon had links to the mafia.

"I am expecting to hear something about Vince and the mafia eventually, you know. Yeah, you know he's got to be tied up in the mafia. There were certain years you couldn't do anything in New York without working with them, his dad worked with them they ran the arenas and the entertainment business pretty much everything you know at one point, so I know there's some stories there yeah," RVD said.

Vince McMahon resigned as TKO Executive Chairman in January 2024 following allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse made by former WWE employee Janel Grant. McMahon is currently under federal investigation for a number of sexual assault allegations.

Several exhibits in the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant display alleged text messages from McMahon and Rob Van Dam believes the 78-year-old was referring to the mafia instead of lawyers.

"When he was like, 'Hey you can't give me any problems on this. I have phone numbers on speed dial, I have contacts on speed dial in my phone, they solve problems instantly.' Things of that nature. And at the time I was thinking it read like I thought he met like big ass high powerful lawyers but now I'm thinking [imitates gun] someone will knock her off," RVD stated.

Rob Van Dam had multiple runs in WWE from 2001 until 2014. He is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame but currently wrestles in All Elite Wrestling.
