Another set of titles bite the dust for FTR.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler defended the AAA World Tag Team Titles against Dragon Lee and Dralistico on AAA's show from Acapulco, Mexico on December 28. After a back-and-forth match and one referee ejection, it was Dralistico and Dragon Lee who picked up the win to capture the championships. The titles were then vacated following the win as Dragon Lee announced he had signed with WWE.

With the loss, FTR's reign as AAA World Tag Team Champions comes to an end at 438 days. They had held the gold since defeating The Lucha Brothers on an October 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite. They only defended the titles five times over the past 14 months and December 28 was their first defence since April.

According to The Cubs Fan, FTR are done with AAA following the loss. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler now only hold the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships and many expect them to lose the titles to YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4.

FTR were previously ROH World Tag Team Champions but they lost the belts to The Briscoes in a Double Dog Collar Match at Final Battle on December 10.
