FTR Retain AEW World Tag Team Titles, MJF Refuses To Turn On Adam Cole

MJF and Adam Cole will continue as friends and partners

FTR emerged victorious in a big main event last night on AEW Collision, successfully defending their AEW World Tag Team Championships against the winners of the blind eliminator tag team tournament, Adam Cole and MJF.

MJF threw himself in harm's way at the end of the match, not allowing Adam Cole to take the Shatter Machine finisher. MJF would reverse it, but this led to him getting rolled up anyway to lose the match. A gutted AEW World Champion was seen frustrated, blaming himself for the loss. His partner, Cole, approached MJF in a similar fashion to last week, this time handing him the AEW World Title without any form of hesitation.

Cole walked away from MJF, his back to the champion. Both knew what was set to happen next. MJF stood his feet, conflicted and tears in his eyes, holding up the title to hit his new friend in the back. Cole knew it was coming, even opening his arms out wide to receive whatever turn MJF was about to give him. However, much to the shock (and thrill) of fans, MJF threw his belt to the side and the pair hugged it out, continuing on the Better Than You BayBay duo.

On Dynamite, it was revealed that MJF was willing to grant Adam Cole a rematch for the AEW World Championship, though it wasn’t made clear when this would take place.
